Right now, we are well into “kitten season”, when thousands of vulnerable baby cats are being born unseen under houses, porches, in bushes and anywhere a new mother cat feels safe.
But they are not really safe—predators, cars, sickness and starvation often await these babies unless they find some human intervention and protection.
To fill this urgent need, there is an invisible army of cat caretakers who sacrifice their own time and money—and sleep—to feed and protect colonies of feral or community cats. They put the welfare of the cats before even their own. They are true heroes.
But these heroes need help—anyone feeding their own pets knows how expensive that can be—imagine the cost of feeding a colony of 20 cats every day—or 50—or 60!
As we have for years, Guardians is rushing to help many of these selfless cat caretakers with life-saving food, assistance with spaying and neutering to prevent even more breeding, and providing other crucial vet treatment to cats and kittens who otherwise have no human champion to help them navigate a dangerous life.
But Guardians can only help them with your help—your donations go straight to the neediest situations, providing supplies and veterinary support to the dedicated caretakers of homeless cats and kittens for whom they sacrifice their own comfort and time.
