Rescue does not get a holiday. As the holiday weekend approached, the Guardians of Rescue Teams are responding to multiple calls for help.
A shelter in rural Kentucky reached out about a litter of 5 Chiweenie pups that were dumped and found by a passerby who brought them in. The pups are so small, so malnourished, and already fighting infections so severe that they could not be kept at the shelter, with no immune systems functioning. Our critical care team raced to get them, and started providing them round-the-clock care and medications.
Despite our best effort one has passed over the rainbow bridge, way too soon, but the other 4, Stella, Missy, Lilly and Benny are still fighting to survive.
