Abandoned as a tiny helpless puppy near an American military base in the Middle East, Khalisa was so small she could fit in your pocket, and being so vulnerable in an environment where every day is a fight to stay alive she didn't stand a chance alone. A hero stepped up to help her and from that moment on, U.S. Army Sergeant Rici and Khalisa were inseparable... until now.
Khalisa became family to Sergeant Rici - who previously tried to save another thrown away pup that tragically didn't make it - but our military members aren't able to play any part in bringing the animals they protect while deployed overseas to safety; forcing them to endure the heartbreak of leaving the dogs and cats they fall in love with to the suffering and danger that awaits if they are left alone to fend for themselves. Innocent souls like Khalisa don't have a future if they have to stay behind overseas.
That's why our No Buddy Left Behind program was founded - to save lives, and keep these special bonds together. With the unbearable worry of losing Khalisa weighing heavy on her heart, Sergeant Rici reached out with a desperate plea knowing the gentle dog can't survive on her own, and our team is working to reunite Khalisa Stateside with her brave soldier Mom - in her first real (and forever) home, but we need your help.
