Help change Toby's future

Desoto Parish Louisiana authorities requested assistance from Guardians of Rescue in this horrific case; an arrest has been made and nine starving dogs were seized. Due to this being an ongoing investigation we are limited as to what we can post.

To us, it is clear that these dogs were part of a fighting ring and several were used as bait dogs. The thought of being chained up while other dogs run loose and rip you apart as bait is horrifying. One dog that we have named Toby was on a heavy chain, clinically starving, his face had been mauled, parts of his lips and tongue detached, and he was riddled with pellets. We can only imagine why this dog was shot so many times with pellets. Upon further inspection at the veterinarian, this poor boy will need reconstructive surgery, has spleen issues, advanced heartworm disease, and the list goes on.

We need critical donations to pay for the medical care of Toby and we need organizations to step up and take these dogs into their care. The parish has a strict seizure policy, if these dogs do not get pulled they have no other options than to put them down. We are urging our supporters to please make donations and to share this post; to reach out to us if you have an interest in rescuing one of these dogs.

The Desoto Sheriff's Department and Desoto Animal Shelter have really gone over and above, change is really being made in this parish for the better and we need to support them.
